Talib Haqq captured a pivotal moment in the history of Hip Hop with photographs of Run-DMC, Whodini, producer Larry Smith and others.
Inspired by Run-DMC’s 1983 debut single, “It’s Like That,” Haqq began photographing the rappers at parties, after-hour clubs, on tour and in the studio.
His portrait of Joseph “Run” Simmons and Darryl “DMC” McDaniel in Hollis, Queens, is on the cover of their groundbreaking debut album, “Run-DMC.
